Commuter Pulse: Tuesday Transit Shifts and Arterial Updates

Adelaide commuters should prepare for a series of new service disruptions and ongoing infrastructure bottlenecks this Tuesday, February 17, 2026. While the metropolitan rail network is currently operating on a standard weekday timetable, the bus network and several major intersections are seeing significant activity that will impact travel times during the morning and afternoon peaks.

Public Transport Alerts: Bus Stop Closures

Adelaide Metro has implemented several specific changes effective today. Passengers relying on the following routes should check for temporary signage and adjusted schedules:

  • Findon Road: Stop 211 on Findon Road is closed starting today, Tuesday, February 17. Commuters are advised to use adjacent stops to avoid missing their connections.
  • Edgecombe Road: A new stop closure at Stop 74A Edgecombe Road (North Side) also commences today, impacting local feeder services.
  • Camden Park: Ongoing detours remain in place for Stonehouse Avenue and Morphett Road. This disruption is expected to continue through Friday, February 20, affecting the H20 service.
  • Tea Tree Gully: A major detour on North East Road is currently active and will remain in place until March 1. This affects routes 557 and 557S, with significant stop closures in the area.
  • Main North Road: Residents in Pooraka should note that Stop 34 remains closed as part of ongoing infrastructure works, affecting multiple 228 series and T228 services.

Major Arterial Roadworks

Infrastructure projects continue to reshape several high-traffic corridors. Motorists should anticipate lane restrictions and reduced speed limits at the following locations:

  • Marion Road and Sir Donald Bradman Drive: This critical intersection is undergoing a major upgrade to ease south-west bottlenecks. Expect heavy equipment and lane shifts as crews work on additional through-lanes and new bicycle paths.
  • James Congdon Drive: Capacity improvements are underway with the addition of three right-turn lanes onto Sir Donald Bradman Drive. Traffic flow is likely to be sluggish during peak hours.
  • North-South Corridor (T2D): Preparatory works for the southern tunnels continue. While much of the heavy excavation is managed off-road, speed restrictions remain active along sections of South Road to ensure site safety.
  • The Grove Way: Construction continues at the Canterbury Drive junction to improve bus access and pedestrian safety, causing localized delays for those traveling through the northern suburbs.

SAPOL Safety Operations and Speed Monitoring

South Australia Police (SAPOL) has launched a week-long safety operation from February 16 to February 22. This initiative specifically targets e-bike and e-scooter behavior, including illegal modifications and non-compliance with road rules. Additionally, mobile speed cameras are scheduled for high-visibility locations today, including Main North Road at Blair Athol, Golden Grove Road, and Grand Junction Road at Clearview. Commuters are urged to maintain the posted speed limits, particularly in active work zones where fines are significant.
