Environmental and Park Lands Notice

The City of Adelaide has extended a standing environmental notice regarding the River Torrens (Karrawirra Pari). Due to elevated E. coli levels identified in recent water quality testing, the lake section of the river—extending from the university footbridge to the weir—remains closed to all primary water contact. Public signage is in place at Bonython Park advising against recreational activities involving water immersion. Restoration works also continue in Botanic Park following the recent festival season. While Plane Tree Drive has reopened to pedestrians, certain sections remain cordoned off to facilitate turf restoration and the safe use of heavy machinery.

Road and Infrastructure Updates

Commuters are reminded of significant changes to the metropolitan road network. As part of the North-South Corridor (T2D) project, the new South Road alignment in Torrensville is now fully operational. Permanent traffic restrictions are in place, including a prohibited right turn from South Road into West Thebarton Road. In the hills and eastern suburbs, the Department of Infrastructure and Transport is continuing night works for the resurfacing of Greenhill Road to improve network reliability.
