Commuters and holiday-makers across Adelaide are advised to prepare for significant service changes this Easter Saturday, 4 April 2026. With the Easter long weekend in full swing, a combination of major infrastructure projects and essential maintenance will impact both public transport users and motorists. While the traditional city rush is absent, local travel for shopping and holiday events will require extra planning.

Full Tram Network Closure

The most significant disruption today is the total closure of the Adelaide Metro tram network. As part of the ongoing Tram Grade Separation Projects, the entire network will be offline until the last service on Monday, 6 April. This affecting the following lines:

• GLNELG: Moseley Square to the Entertainment Centre.
• BTANIC: Botanic Gardens to the Entertainment Centre.
• FSTVL: Moseley Square to Festival Plaza.

To assist commuters, substitute bus services (GLN1 and BTAN1) are operating at a frequency of every 10 minutes during the day and every 15 to 20 minutes in the evening. Passengers should note that Festival Plaza will not be serviced by substitute buses; however, nearby stops on King William Street and North Terrace remain accessible.
