As the work week begins this Monday, 23 March 2026, the most significant impact for Adelaide commuters remains the updated traffic alignment on South Road in Torrensville. Part of the ongoing River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, the section of South Road between Ashley Street and the intersection of Ashwin Parade and West Thebarton Road is now operating on a new permanent alignment. Northbound traffic is flowing on newly constructed lanes, which requires motorists to be vigilant regarding several permanent turning restrictions.

Commuters are reminded that there are now strictly no right turns permitted from West Thebarton Road or Ashwin Parade onto South Road during the morning and afternoon peak periods (7:00 am to 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm). Additionally, northbound motorists on South Road are permanently prohibited from making a right turn into West Thebarton Road at any time. These measures are designed to maintain traffic flow through the construction zone and minimize the risk of congestion-related incidents.
